Review of Afterlight by Elle Jasper

Savannah's most unconventional tattoo artist, Riley Poe, lives on the edge. Now she's put over the edge when her younger brother is taken by a sinister cult led by vampires. Her only ally is the hot-tempered vampire Eli Dupre, attracted to Riley's beauty and rare blood type. To save her brother from certain un-death, Riley faces dangers she's never dreamed of, ruthless bloodthirsty enemies, and an evil of endless hunger that wants to devour it all...

My Review:
I love this book... I lived in Savannah for about 13 years all totaled and believe me when I say it is a beautiful place but just as the book says tourist know nothing of the underground or underworld that is hidden in the shadows. Believe me when I say it is a very haunted city and full of the weird and otherworldly. If vampires and other urban legends do exist they all live and lurk there..... 5 croaks and then some.

Review of Grave Dance by Kalayna Price

After a month of down time, Grave Witch Alex Craft is ready to get back to solving murders by raising the dead. With her love life in turmoil, Alex is eager for the distractions of work. But when her new case forces her to overuse her magic, it might be the last mystery the Grave Witch ever gets to solve...

My Review:
I like the concept of a grave witch, how great would it be if someone could actually question the ghost of someone dead to find out what actually happened to them , of course only those spirits held earthbound due to foul play. I enjoyed reading this book and found it quite disturbing that the main character has a thing for Death.....creepy.... I give this book 4croaks

Review of Hit List by Laurell K. Hamilton

A serial killer is hunting the Pacific Northwest, murdering victims in a gruesome and spectacular way. The local police suspect "monsters" are involved, and have called in Anita Blake and Edward, US Marshals who really know their monsters, to catch the killer.

But some monsters are very real. The Harlequin have been the bogeymen of the vampire world for more than a thousand years; they are a secret so dark that even to speak their name can earn you a death sentence. Now they are here in America, hunting weretigers, and human police.

The Harlequin serve the Mother of All Darkness, the first vampire. She was supposed to be dead, but only her body was destroyed. Now she needs a new one, and she's decided that Anita Blake's is the body she wants. Edward thinks the serial killings are a trap to lure Anita closer to the most dangerous vampire they've ever hunted. The vampires call Edward "Death," and Anita the "Executioner," but Mommy Darkest is coming to kill one, and possess the other, and she doesn't care how many others have to die along the way.
My Review:
In the past years I anticipated each book by Laurell K. Hamilton until it became nothing but porn and I do not read porn. My daughter told me this book is more like her writing was before she lost her mind and became a flesh peddler. This was a good book and it is so good to have Anita and Edward on a case together again. Ms. Hamilton is an amazing author and believe me I like hot and steamy but she had crossed that fine line , it is good to have her back. I look forward to more......

Review of Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich

Where there's smoke there's fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum. The bail bonds office has burned to the ground, and bodies are turning up in the empty construction lot. To make matters worse, Stephanie is working out of a motor home she shares with a dancing bear, and Joe Morelli's old world grandmother has declared a vendetta against her. And just when Stephanie decides it might be time to choose between the two men in her life, Morelli and Ranger, a third man from Stephanie's past moves back to Trenton...

Break out a cold drink and slap on some sunscreen, this summer is sure to be a scorcher with Smokin' Seventeen.

My Review:
Oh my gosh I love these books, I think Janet Evanovich deserves some kind of metal for these.
As always this one was great and hot  and I would pick Ranger in a heart beat. My husband says I can not read these after he goes to bed cause I wake him up laughing. Some of these characters remind me of my family. I give this book and all 16 of the ones before it 5 croaks.....
